For those who follow my blog, you will know that I wrote a eulogy for Scott Summers as the Dark Phoenix takes him over. This cover reflects that brilliantly. I adore the anguished face with the intensity of the fire and eye beams. The cover screams at you, together with Scott and it’s clearly a sad fate that awaits him. The reflections in his visor is an excellent touch and a great feat of colouring. I do not see this as an angry Cyclops lashing out but more of the tragic demise of a strong leader. I hope the the world forgives Scott.
