Cover of the Week 4/1 – Autumnlands #14 by Benjamin Dewey

This cover really stood out this week because it depicted something you rarely see on the front of a comic, shame. Our characters are walking with their heads held down and it is quite obvious they are avoiding eye contact. Learoyd on the right has his head held away from Dusty and a grimace of pain and torment. Their hunching shoulders and slow walk is symbolic of a failed journey and the background certainly provides evidence of that. The mushroom cloud explosion is immense but little attention is paid to it because it is seemingly so far away and almost white in its blaze of light. The shade prominent to the two characters creates focus on their appearance. They are walking away from failure and it is an epic one indeed.
